Where Are We?

We are based in the Victorian Spa Village of Strathpeffer, which is 15 miles NW of Inverness, the capital of the Scottish Highlands. Its an ideal starting point to explore the Highlands and Islands of Scotland, whichever compass direction you want to head off in or if you are wanting to do the NC500.
Suggested weekly routes could take you up to the NW, Cape Wrath and the Hebridean Islands; SW down the Great Glen to Fort William, Ben Nevis and the Isle of Mull; SE into the Cairngorms, Aviemore and Glen Spey with lots of famous distilleries.
The local area is also great for trekking and mountain biking. We are at the foot of Ben Wyvis and there are numerous forest trails around Strathpeffer and Contin to explore. The Strathpuffer Mountain Bike Races (see Links) courses are set in the forests between Strathpeffer and Contin each year.
Please note that Strathpeffer is 579 miles from London. As mentioned on the Welcome Page the way to save on journey time (and petrol money) when travelling up from southern areas, is to arrange to fly to Inverness Airport http://www.hial.co.uk/inverness-airport/, (Flybe and Easyjet have regular scheduled flights) or catch a train into Inverness (the overnight sleeper train is a good option). We are happy to pick you up from the airport or train station as part of the service.
Also, an idea might be for you to "book end" your campervan trip with a stay at one of the Strathpeffer hotels and take a look around the local area in more detail. We'd recommend any of the local hotels, the Ben Wyvis, Highland, Strathpeffer, Mackays, etc... and if you wanted to stay over at Contin, the Coul House Hotel offers first class dining.
